In April of the year
2000, Brigitte set off alone to conquer the mighty U.S.A. with
her rockabilly ways. Her promotional tour kicked off in Jackson,
Tennessee where she was asked to represent Australia for the innagural
Rockabilly Hall of Fame Museum gathering. Here, Brigitte performed
alongside the likes of Wanda Jackson, The Comets, Barbara Pittman,
Buddy Holly's Crickets, Narvel Felts, Paul Burlinson, Rocky Burnette,
Billy Burnette, Sonny Burgess & DJ Fontana - to name a few!
As part of the International
day for the Rockabilly Hall of Fame Weekender, Brigitte performed
an outrageous set backed by some of the finest new talent from
around the world. Marco DiMaggio from Florence, Italy played lead
guitar, Lasse from Finland's 'Red Hot' slapped that dog-house
bass & Lee Roy from Nashville T.N. sat in on drums.
After spending a few
days checkin' out various rockabilly icons in Memphis TN, Brigitte
flew off to Las Vegas, Nevada to take part in the annual rockabilly
Weekender - Viva Las Vegas 2000.
Brigitte performed on
the Rockabilly Hall of Fame stage in the West Lounge backed by
US band 'The Sin City Sinners'. She also made a guest appearance
with fellow rockabilly gal Josie Kreuzer singing a rockin' duet
on 'Wildman' and at an all-star jam session and tribute to Gene
Vincent. Brigitte rocked out to Say Mama & Lotta Lovin' with
legendary Blue Caps drummer Dickie Harrell, way-out bass man Bill
Mack, Marco DiMaggio on guitar & Bob Timmers on piano.
Brigitte went on to
make a series of post Vegas appearances around Los Angeles &
San Diego with The Sin City Sinners. Gator, Christian & Jose
ripped it up with Brigitte at venues such as Linda's Doll Hut,
Jack's Sugar Shack, Tio Leo's in San Diego, The Culver Saloon
in Culver City & The Derby in Hollywood. Brigitte also made
a guest appearance at the Java Lanes in Long Beach C.A. with Big
Sandy & his Fly-Rite Boys & at The Garage in Santa Monica
alongside Champagne Velvet, Pearl Harbour and a range of other
Rockabilly celebs!
